00 Acid rain is a broad term used to describe several ways that falls out the atmosphere. However, it is distinctive than ordinary rain water. It can also be indicated as rain water that has a pH level that is lower that 5.6. A more precise and specific term to exemplify acid rain is acid deposition, which has two parts, wet and dry. 02br

00 Wet deposition refers to acidic rain, fog and snow. As the acidic water flows over and through the ground, it affects a variety of plants life and natural world. On the contrary, wet deposition is at variance with dry deposition. Dry deposition refers to acidic gases and particles. The wind blows these acidic particles and gases onto buildings, cars, homes and trees. Dry deposited gases and particles can also be washed from trees and other surfaces by rainstorms, resulting in the rain more acidic than the falling rain alone. 02br

00 Acid rain is caused by Nitrogen Oxides, NO and Sulphur dioxides, SO2 that released as waste from traffics, industries and power stations which then rise into the air. Subsequently, nitrogen oxides and sulphur dioxides combine with water, H2O in the air and they dissolve into Nitric acid, HNO3 and sulphuric acid, H2SO4. Thus, acid in clouds fall to Earth as acid rain which is hazardous to living things and non living things.02br

00 Acid rain affects the substances on which it falls such as forests, fields, animals and concrete buildings. When it falls on living things, the living things become unhealthy. It is similar when acid rain falls in lakes and rivers; it changes the pH level of the water. As a result, the water becomes more acidic and acidic water can kill the plankton. It is dreadful as fish depend upon the plankton for food. Acid rain can also affects the surfaces of structures and buildings. Even hard building materials, such as marble, can be seriously damaged. 02br

00 In conclusion, acid rain is perilous but it can be prevented by consuming things which are related to chemical compounds wisely. As a consequence, the percentage of acid rain’s formation can be deducted and save environment can be achieved. 02br
