The form of the sentence

Please can anyone help with the form of the following sentences???

1. He hesitated before jumping
2. I'm meeting Peter for lunch on Saturday
3. She takes after her father
4. I tried to shout
5. I tried shouting
6. We needn't have bought that milk
7. The city is polluted

am I am also trying to create concept questions for the above, does anyone have any ideas?

the form is the grammatical structure, eg. he hestitated would be subject + verb + ed (past participle)

concept questions are very simple questions to elicit the meaning of a sentence or words, ie. did he stop before jumping?? Did he jump straight in? etc...
