THE food hygiene or just food hygiene?

dear teachers

is the article "the" required before "food hygiene" in the para below?

Their food is delicious, but customer service is god-awful and food-hygiene is questionable. Their manager was blatantly rude to me sometime back in 2009 after which I stopped going there, though I still order food from them every now and then.
