The first time in well

http://www.gloucestershireecho.co.uk/Conman-victims-included-Cirencester-firm-cheated/story-27516231-detail/story.html

A cheating conman whose victims included his own bride on their wedding day was ordered today to hand over his £34,000 pension pot to her within three months - or go back to jail.
Mechanical engineer Colin Jarvie, 39, stole more than £50,000 from unsuspecting new wife Letizia Salaris, including the £8,000 engagement rung he had given her.

His victims also included the Cirencester firm Socomec, who employed him.
Jarvie paid for their Far East honeymoon with his employer's credit card - and did not even go on the trip with her. Instead he pretended to have been taken ill immediately after their traditional Scottish wedding.

Then during four years of marriage he stole all the money she gave him towards the mortgage payments on their home. He spent the money he stole on fast cars, a Rolex watch and other luxuries.

Today Jarvie - already out of prison on parole from a 27 month jail term imposed last May - attended Gloucester Crown Court for a hearing under the Proceeds of Crime Act and his wife was there to see him for the first time in well over a year.

I wonder what "the first time in well" really means.
