The first peep
Hi all,
The musician, about whom I'm doing a search, said this sentence in a newspaper:
"I was born in a small place between Rome and Leghorn. I had my first peep at world May 29 1853”
I have some trouble to understand what he means by "first peep":
Is peep a kind of "sound", as he meant to say: "I uttered my first sound in this world on..."?
or is it a kind of "glance", as he meant to say: "I saw the world for the very first time on..."?
Since he was a musician I translated peep as sound, but I have some doubts now.
