The first five hundred years of the Latter Day of the Law represent a time for propagation.

Should it be "represents" instead?

It should be some other verb altogether that might help this make sense, maybe "are". It is hard to see how years can represent a time. It is also hard to see what is to be propagated. It is even harder to see what the Latter Day of the Law is. (Oh. Buddhism. Say no more.)
