The fire alarm

Hi,
Does the order of nouns influence the choice of article? I will show what I mean:

1. If in a building the fire alarm goes off, be alert.
(there's only 1 fire alarm)

2. If the fire alarm goes off in a building, be alert.
I can still use "the" in #2 because the rest of the sentence makes it clear which one I am referring to, right? The fire alarm (the only one) at a building.

Both sentences are correct with "the". There is no difference in meaning. Saying this, however, does not answer the impossible question whether the order of nouns (always / ever) influences the choice of article.
