The farmer, although he is poor, is happy.

1) The farmer, although he is poor, is happy.

2) The farmer is happy although he is poor.

Are both sentences correct? And do they carry the same meaning?

I was wondering if the #1 is possible and has the same meaning as the #2?

What do you native English speakers think?

Thank you so much as usual in advance!
