The fact-checkers...

Lois: l'm trying to get this eclipse story in
before the sun sets on my career. Ugh. What genius invented the keyboard?
How hard would it have been to put the letters in alphabetical order?

Chloe: Hate to break it to you. The fact-checkers
are gonna have a field day with that one.
Her story would seem funny to the fact checkers?

You know, astronomers are saying
that it wasn't an actual eclipse. lt was just some huge circular shadow
that was caused by water molecules.

Lois: Not the astronomer l talked to.

A 'field day' at a school is when students get out of class and go play games on the playfield. Reporters have a field day (go wild, have fun) with a story because they can play with it. When the Watergate investigations became publc knowledge, the reporters from the Washington Post had a field day.

So Chloe means they'll have a field day with the eclipse, right?
Not Lois' obtuse question about the keyboard?
