The expression so-so

Is the expression "so-so" common? e.g. Some students think she's a good teacher. For me, she is just so-so.

or are there far more common alternatives?

Hi,



My experience in my classroom is that many of my students use so-so much, much too often. They see it as 'easy English' and a way to avoid using better English.

I just tell them not to say it, or to say it no more than once a day.
