(1) The expansion of the universe will be always going on.


(2) The expansion of the universe has always been going on.


[Let's assume that (1) and (2) are true.]


I understand that in (1) the expansion will go on forever, and in (2) the expansion lasted in the past, is going on now, and not necessarily will be indefinite in the future.
