The environment

-Children can't learn language themselves; they need input from environment.

Do I need THEs for both LANGUAGE and ENVIRONMENT? Dictionaries don't give answers on these points.

Thank you. OJ.

I would use 'the' only for 'environment', which needs it.

Hi MM,
I can't understand the use of "the" before "environment"! What's wrong without "the"?
Would you kindly shed some light on it?

Regards,

Iman

There is only one environment around each of us. There is no call to make it uncountable there.
