The 'English' cricket team or the 'England' cricket team?

Helo there,

I have noticed over the last few years that the English cricket team is being referred as the 'England' cricket team, as with my country, the 'Australia' cricket team vs. the 'Australian' cricket team.

I also live in South Australia, but my neighbouring state is 'Western' Australia: Should my state be 'Southern Australia' or the neighbouring state be 'West Australia'.

Please assist with these questions.

PS: I am always correcting people over the mis-pronunciation of the letter H='aitch' and not 'haitch'. Iwill never give up the battle.

Thanks,

Phil B.
