The Energy consumption and the greenhouse gas emissions of Australian

The pie charts compare the proportion of 6 different types of using energy in Australia and the greenhouse gas emissions will release to the environment of each type.

In Australia, most energy used for heating and water heating. However, the proportion of energy used for heating was nearly 3 times as high as that of the greenhouse gas emissions, 42% compared to 15%. On the other hand, the energy using for water heating purpose was 30%, which was a little lower than that of the emission it will release (32%).

The percentage of power spent on refrigerator, lightning and other appliances are 7%, 4% and 15% respectively. Nevertheless, the greenhouse gas emissions of it were twice as high as the power consumption accounted for 14%,8% and 28% in that order. The Australian rarely used energy for cooling (2%).

Overall, the rate of emissions to the environment does not depend on the rate of energy consumption. Refrigerator and lightning use very little power but emit more greenhouse gas emissions.
