Gene93Some of my friends from England say "The electric cut out."That should be electricity, not "electric". That's a common mistake.

Gene93 Hello,
I usually hear people say "The power went out." If we use electricity instead, which verb do we have to use? Some of my friends from England say "The electric cut out." That's just them, though. Which verb sounds best "The electricity went out/went off/cut out/cut off"?
Thank you
