or

I'was in the laundry room (yesterday)! The door wouldn't open!"

I wouldn't say this is completely wrong. It sounds like I have given up trying to open the door, ie my attempts to open it are all in the past.

However, the other ways to say it are more commonly heard, in my opinion.

Just because something is said in a film does not mean that it is standard
