The + disease

Do I need the following article before the diseases in the replies:

"I have diabetes." A:"When did you get (the) diabetes?"

I have chlamydia." A: "How did you get (the) chlamydia?"

I don't need the article before diseases, do I? Thanks.

Not in general, no. There are some exceptions, however.

I have [a cold / the flu].

But in BrE, it's just 'flu'.
