The different accents
I have noticed that Non-native English speakers sometimes pronounce a word in the British accent and sometimes in the American accent. Is it difficult for the native English speakers to understand them?
I studied in an International school in Pakistan. I was taught English by native English speakers, but still I was not able to stick to one accent becuase from grade 1-8 I was taught English by American teachers and then in my High School years I was taught by British teachers. After that I went to Canada for my college. So, I am so confused regarding which accent to follow?
Should I follow a specic accent when I speak English or should I just speak english by ignoring the accents and trying to make myself understandable?
