The Difference Between "space" & "room"

Hi all!

I wonder which word I should choose to fill in the blank, space or room: If you are short, your clothes and shoes take less ____ in your bedroom.
And what's the difference between them when they are uncountable?

Thanks a lot!

I vote for "space."

There's not much difference. Both could be two-dimensional (eg., "floor space") or three-dimensional, but "space" is more emphatically the latter.

If you are the author, it's better not to repeat " - room."
