The difference between" how to become" and " how to be"

Hello.

I would like to know the difference between " I know how to become a doctor." and " I know how to be a doctor."

I thought they are almost same, but my textbook says,

" I know how to become a doctor." means I know the way to be a doctor in the future.

"I know how to be a doctor." means I know the way to be as a doctor.

Woud you think so, too?

Please help me.
