Please advise me the difference between condo and apartment.

Please explain it in an easy way.

usually in Canada a condo is owned and an apartment is rented....they are very similar in construction but condos have more floors...are usually higher. If someone rents they call it their "apartment" and if they own it they call it their "condo". I hope that helps

From a professional point of view, a condo is step up from apartment. Condo usually is owned by owners can rent it out. Condo is usually managed by an "HOA" which enforces the CC&R ( rules and regulations). It usually has a club house, a pool and a gym. In recent years, many older apartments were sold to developers who remodeled these old apartments and call them "condo conversions".

Hi, While what you said is true, I would say most people would rather tell their friends they live in a condo than apartment. It is a plain reality. Apartments are much cheaper which are more likely to attract different demographic elements. Condo, on the other hand, sounds much more appealing and naturally cost more to rent, or buy.
