The diagrams below give information on transport and car use in Edmonton.



The diagrams depict what kind of transport which is prior to choosing to travel and the proportion of people’s reason for using the car in the city in Edmonton.


Overall, it is clear that the bulk of people prefers to travel by individual transport to public transport. Especially, the car is the most common with population while bus and taxi account for the minimum percentage for commuting.


For the pie chart, the car sits in a solemn at the top percentage among four participations with amounting to nearly a half. Besides, LRT follows which stays at the second largest proportion of 35%, lower 10% than the car. In contrast, bus and taxi have the same rate with making up 10%, even total both percentages is double as low as the car.


Going to the detail, Commuting to work is the main reason which attains 55% of people who uses the car in the city. 40% and 45% belong to take children to school and business respectively while shopping and leisure activities merely hold 15% in each. Finally, people almost drive the car for relevant things about work and taking children to school.
