The given pictures describes the salmon's life span. Overall, the salmon would experience seven stages in two main forms - from eggs to adult fishes.

First of all, the spawning mature salmon lays eggs in fresh water such as rivers or streams before passing away within two weeks. The eggs will hatch after about 3 months and release infant salmons called alevins into the water. The alevins will feed off yolk-sac for various week because they are not able to find food by themselves. Few months after, the alevins grow up an become parrs which reach the size of an adult's finger.

The fifth step is when the parrs are one to three years old, they will group up and migrate to the ocean where they are named after “smolts”. they will spend up to 8 years in the ocean until they reach the certain stage of growth and maturity before carrying out another immigration back to the river (or streams) that they were born to spawn. after this final stage, the life cycle of the salmon will begin again.
