Overall, there are mainly 5 different stages during the storm water harvesting. Initially, the raw water is collected from rain. Through out various physical and chemical steps, this becomes clean water that is used for housing consumption.

In detail, after being taken out of nature, the rainwater flows down in a pipes of housing drain into the water recycling system where the water is recycled. This particularly has 4 distinct treatment phases, which the first one is used tom discard several kinds of visible waster such as plastic and rubbish. In the second phase, the smaller particles is filtered out while the next one is for microscopic impurities, especially bacteria and virus. Once the molecules and salt are removed from the water, the final step in recycling plant completes.

Prior to being stored in the chamber, clean water runoff is chlorinated with the ratio of 4mg/l in a tank. Ultimately, the recycled water is dispatched to Australian households with the aim of reusing on sunny days.
