The DHL staff informed me that I will get my parcel this afternoon.


The DHL staff called me right now.
The DHL staff said he will deliver the parcel to me by this afternoon.

The DHL staff informed me that I will get my parcel this afternoon.
When combine this two sentences into one. Do we still need to say "called" or just use "informed".
