Personal character and initiative, please provide an example of a situation where you initiated a significant change or where you took a risk and accomplished something you are proud of. What resources (professional or personal networks, academic or policy research, personal intuition) did you use in making decisions and taking action? What did you learn from the result?

Four years ago, as a high school student, I took a courageous step to move to the new country, I experienced a unique culture, a new language, and a new society.

As I was a financially independent student, I had to fit a part-time job into my daily schedule. I started teaching English at Liberty International English school in Japan.

The profession of a teacher at all times has been and remains honorable but at the same time the most challenging profession.

During my studies, was to lose a hard-working coworker. This caused a significant change in my life and influenced my mindset that leads me to evaluate about values of life and be strong in difficult situations.

As a result of the sudden loss of my friend and colleague, huge work and patience were needed, the school administration and teachers had to be strong in order to be professional and responsible for students.

For one month, I decided to make a significant change in order to help to substitute the high school students’ lessons, as a result, it was challenging to balance classes and I had to skip classes, that lead to failing exams which affected my GPA. At the same time, I learned how crucial is to plan well in order to prevent failure and being successful in studies at the same time at work. I can tell that I accomplished more experience in dealing with situations, where I gained trust from the team and managing time, which will be of a great lesson in my future career, in order to be more professional and understand my priorities. After discovering the meaning of time, gaining its value and importance. I learned from my mistakes in any case and I had more time to do it effectively. It brought satisfaction and free time for new things. The way a person manages time affects the effectiveness of their life and education. In life, each of us experiences challenging situations, and we all react in our own way as we look for a way out to failures in different ways.
