The Dawn's awake paraphrase 1

I tried to paraphrase the first stanza by myself. Please help me write a perfect one by correcting the mistakes.

Text

The Dawn’s awake!

A flash of smoldering flame and fire
Ignites the East. Then, higher, higher,
O’er all the sky so gray, forlorn,
The torch of gold is borne.

Paraphrase

It's dawn now and the sun like a smouldering flame rises, lighting the east. The sun looking like a torch of gold gradually spreads its light all over the dark sky.

Thanks.
