The dancing/the trash/the hammering

1. The dancing you performed last night was good.
2. Put the trash in the trash.
3. The hammering doen't seem to nail down the nail.

Can you please check whether these sentences are correct?

For #3 you could say Hammering the nail doesn't seem to drive it (in).
