The Curly Apostrophe in Abbreviated Words

Hello. For shortened words in dialogue writing, does it matter in what direction the curly apostrophe is facing? For example, if one were to write "how 'bout this?" instead of "how about this?" does it matter whether the apostrophe made with Word is facing the "b" or away from it?

Thanks.
