the creation or the creating

Guys, these two are different? If so, please explain what's the difference.

Ex) the creation of documents
the creating of documents

I googled those two phrases and got way more results with 'the creation of documents' than with 'the creating of documents'. I thought the creating of something form would be more common. Thanks!

The gerund focuses more on the action, the noun more on the fact. I also get the feeling that the gerund would be more appropriate in cases of forgery.

You should't use this one IMO, it's quite rare and thus strange. You have a noun, use it, that's the conclusion in such cases.
