The correct punctuation of a rhetorical question.

There's no need to end a rhetorical question with a question mark, is there. Or is there? If you write in an informal, conversational style, this question arises. It can also arise if a conversational rhetorical question is reported as speech in formal writing. It looks wrong with a plain period, but a question mark can subvert the meaning.
