The correct alternative

Could you confirm whether the following sentences are okay?..It's very important for me..I have an exam and i'm afraid about it.

The present perfect (have left) links the present to the past, so it doesn't work in that sentence. The past perfect (had left) is used to indicate a past event that occurred before another one.
