The consumption of the world’s resources is increasing at a dangerous rate. What are causes and solutions?

It is true that the global’ resources are consumed at an alarming rate. There are several reasons why this is the case, and in this essay I am going to suggest some measures to deal with the problem.
The overconsumption of natural resources is caused by several factors. The first reason could be overpopulation since more people living on the planet means that the demand for the Earth’s resources continues to increase. For example, China has the highest population in the world, and this nation also has the highest water consumption in the world annually. Another reason could be the economic and industrial growth. Thousands of industrial zones and power plants are being constructed annually and these factories and plants consume huge amounts of resources such as oil and water.
Several actions can be taken to tackle the mentioned problem. Firstly,the government should encourage industries to use renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power instead of fossil fuels. Secondly, there should be strategies for managing population growth such as family planning or improved health and education. Last but not least, the government should also introduce environmental campaigns to raise people’s awareness about the problem . When people
are well- ware, they are more likely to help by taking part in conservation projects, turning off their appliances and recycle as much as they can.

In conclusion, overpopulation and economic growth are the main reasons for natural resources being increasingly used, and the authority can implement a wide range of solutions regarding encouraging the use of renewable energy, managing growing population and raising the public awareness
