1. The earlier you buy the plane ticket, the bigger discount you can get.
1,1, As you buy the plane ticket earlier, you can get a bigger discount.
1.2. The earlier you buy the plane ticket, the bigger you can get discount.

Q1) I know the adjective "bigger" modifies the noun "discount."
Does #1.2 sound okay? If so the meaning is not like #1.1 and #1 anymore right?

2.The more sociable a person was, the less subject he was to contagion.
2.1. As a person was more sociable, he was less subject to contagion.
2.2. The more sociable a person was, the less subject to contagion he was.
2.3. The more sociable a person was, the less he was subject to contagion.

Q2) These series of sentences are tricky because of the preposition "to."

Do #2.2 and 2.3 sound okay? If so, do they mean #2 and #2.1?
