The Chrysalids

I'm writing an essay comparing Sophie to Rosalind in the Chrysalids(when they are teenagers). I need a character trait to describe Sophie when she killed the guard of the spider-man's tent. I want to say that she's showing little mercy, and having no feeling, or something similar to cruel.
