The choice of study of boys and girls

In schools and universities, girls tend to choose arts while boys like science. What are the reasons for this change? Do you think this tendency should be changed?

In our world, we can notice that male enjoy studying science whereas females are interested in arts in education. This could be explained by several elements, and I think that it is best to apply changes to this trend.

First and foremost, the main reason leading to this phenomenon is the personalities in genders. Doubtlessly, girls not only have romantic and imaginary thoughts, they love colors, nature and melody as well. These are suitable factors for learning arts. Opposite to girls, boys always think logically, can deal with statistics, number and data very fast. This make them pursue science rather than arts. Another reason is the impact from society. Since long ago, there has been a social convention that determines which subjects each gender should study due to the requirements in the subjects. For instance, chemistry involves learners’ withstanding injuries and bravery while doing experiments with some lethal substances which is the personality of boys. Sewing just simply needs patience and does not require much physical strength which women find it easy to do.

In my view, this trend should be changed because of some following reasons. Firstly, it will be extremely boring if the whole class contains all girls or boys. When we work with our peers who have the same gender, then in general, we have the same ideas and thought which are not creative at all. Secondly, some boys have a great potential to be accomplished artists and girls can also be sophisticated scientists. Consequently, they should be given the opportunities to develop their true talents. They can contribute to life so many achievements if they live in their own ambition.

Overall, the different personalities and conventions in the society influence the choice of study and I do claim that it should be changed. Students will not be bored when learning with the same gender friends and have more chances to study what they like.
