The given pie charts give information about the ratio of Australian secondary school graduates who were employed, unemployed or in further education in the three years 1980, 1990 and 2000.
Overall, it can be seen that the rate of employed people always comprised a high proportion of the total. But the opposite was true for the other two types of people who were unemployed or in further education.
Over the survey period, the rate of people who graduated from secondary school and got a job tended to increase. More specifically, the percentage of people in this group was 40% in 1980. Then it increased by 10% in 1990 and peaked at 55% in 2000.
During the same period, a downward trend was seen in the ratio of unemployed and further educated people. In the beginning, the proportion of people choosing to study higher was half of the total. Moreover, it tended to decline gradually and reached 37% in 2000. Finally, the unemployed always make up the lowest rate. The ratio of these people fluctuated and bottomed out at 8% in the final year landmark.
