Overall, it can be seen that the figure for local-fixed line toward the end of the period saw a downward trend, while there was an upward trend in both national and international-fixed line and mobiles throughout all period.

In 1995, starting with over 70 billion minutes by local-line, there was a slump before reaching a peak at 90 billion in 1999. The number of minutes of local-fixed lines decreased considerably from 90 billion to just only 70 billion.

Standing at second place, the figure for national and international was on the increase from about 40 billion to 60 billion throughout all. Similarly, mobiles which were spent the least time by the UK begin at nearly 3 billion in 1995, followed by a slight climb in 1990. From 2000 to the end of the period, the figure for the UK using Mobile even increased sharply to 40 billion in 2002.
