The chart below gives information about the most common sports played in New Zealand in 2002

The bar chart illustrate about the percentage of popular activities played by New Zealand youngster in two gender in the year of 2002

Overall, It can be seen that, both male and female usually took part in different kind of sports in there leisure time in 2002. While the girls spent most of their free time playing netball, playing soccer seem to attract the far most boys ever.

2002 experienced the highest point of girls who played netball at 25%, by contract, boys just accounted for a tiny fraction about 2% in the same sport. It is interesting to note that female teenagers also participated in swimming and athletics more than male did (13% and 3%), around 20% and 5%, respectively.

On the other hand, soccer tend to have more boys attended when it made up nearly 25%, however, on the reverse side, the percentage of girls was just 5%. Cricket and marital arts that male youngster played were also dominated over the female did, approximately 10% and 9%, compared with 2-3 %. Both of teenagers played tennis but there was a slight lesser in the girls, just over 5%. The propotion of male joined others recreation activities was also better than that of female did.
