The character of my town essay

hey all, I'm a freshmen in college and I need to write an essay on the character of my town. Unfortuneatly, I have no idea where i should start. I obviously know alot about my town, but I don't know what to put down. Does anybody have any ideas as to what aspects I should put in this essay?
