The change in the meaning in this sentence...

I have been married for 3 years- this means that you are married with someone and it has been 3 years since it

"I have been married" - this means that you were married once but its not anymore

AM I right? so when you put for ,even if the verb is on the present perfect the sentence conveys a meaning on the present right?
