0Being a Terence Rattigan's fan, I took some pains to get hold of the 1994 movie adaption of the play, but found myself sorely disappointed. The director took an intense one-act drama and stretched it into a 90-minute narrative. All the emotional highlights fall flat as the key dialogues lose their punch (or are snipped altogether). Worse yet, the director imposed a feel-good ending which doesn't have a base in the story line.02br 02br 00The 1951 b&w version is better.0-
