The boys dancing on the stage are Bob's teammates.

Is #2 redundant or wordy? Is #1 better?

#1: The boys dancing on the stage are Bob's teammates.
#2: The boys who are dancing on the stage are Bob's teammates.

IMO, number one is better. The "who are" is unnecessary. I'd call it "wordy," but I don't think "redundant" is the correct word to describe an optional form.
