The books of Lewis Carroll

Please consider the following sentence:

At the impressionable age of ten, I was introduced to the books of Lewis Carroll through my participation in my school’s production of Alice in Wonderland.

My question is this:

Would you please explain why it is "the books of Lewis Carroll" and not "the books by Lewis Carroll" or "Lewis Carroll books" or "Lewis Carroll's books"?

Thank you.
