The book, which I bought yesterday, was very interesting.

I'd be happy if someone would answer my question. Thanks in advance.

Are the following 2 sentences correct? If so, what's the difference? (Sorry, no context)

A: The book I bought yesterday was very interesting.

B: The book, which I bought yesterday, was very interesting.

Pretty much the same, but I'd use B in such a context: B: The DVD I bought today is boring. However, the book, which I bought yesterday, is very interesting. which I bought yesterday works as a parantheses in which you're focussing on the time of buying

There is no meaning difference but just a stylistic difference. If you still want something more, I can tell this:

A: The book I bought yesterday was very interesting. Here there is no extra information. Everything is openly stated in the sentence.

B: The book, which I bought yesterday, was very interesting. Here the part b

The book [that] I bought yesterday is restrictve. It tells you which book, of all the books in the universe, you are talking about.

The book, which I bought yesterday, is non-restrictive. It assumes the person reading this already knows which book you mean, and you are only give some additional information with the part set off by the commas.

This is more or less the same as what GG said.

In A you're identifying which book you're talking about. It's the very same book that you bought yesterday, and no other.
In B you're just making a parenthetical remark about the very interesting book. It's like saying: The book was very interesting. By the way, I bought it yesterday.
