The bodies

Hi there. The film plot: A car with a woman is being chased. There is a body in the trunk. All of a sudden, another car blocks the road and the woman trying to dodge the obstacle doesn't manage to get control of the car and falls into a ditch and the car keeps on sliding until it is out of a view. A man gets out of the car and commands: "I want bodies. Both of them".

I am wondering why he didn't say "the bodies" while it is explicitly clear who he is talking about.
