Bible simply means "book", so it is a label, essentially saying THE Book (as in the ultimate book, being considered the word of ***). The Christian Bible consists of the Old Testament and the New Testament, each being a collection of documents relating to Jewish (Old Testament) and Christian (New Testament) traditions, practices, and beliefs. The Jewish bible is known as the Tanakh.
