I like walking the best/the most?

I like Sandy the most/the best in my class.

Are there any differences in using "the best/the most" in the above sentences?

When should I use "the best" and when "the most"?

I like Sandy the most/ the best in my class. << "The best" can also be prescriptive of something Sandy is good at doing. To be on the safe side, I'd prefer "the most." Though, it is clear in the context what you are talking about.
