The past few decades have witnessed the escalating rate of juvenile delinquency. While a number of people opine that equipping parents with nurturing techniques is the optimal answer to youth crime puzzles, I firmly advocate that other well-rounded measures are far superior to entirely eradicating such an alarming issue.
On the one hand, there are sufficient grounds to argue that educating fathers and mothers with parenting knowledge is one of the best methods to put a curb on the figure of juvenile wrongdoings. Admittedly, parents are considered as the most intimate family members to their children so the attitude that they maintain at home will have a great influence on the behavior of their children. To illustrate, parents having good virtues and behaviors are more likely to impart moral lessons to their kids. Therefore, if guardians upgrade their parental methods, young generations’ consciousness of laws will be enhanced. However, this is such a short-sighted view, as parents are often occupied with their hectic schedules, toddlers can be taken care of by relatives or babysitters. Adolescents are also exposed to detrimental relationships at school or on virtual platforms when they grow up. Thus, training parents’ expertise is not completely the optimal method to curtail juvenile delinquency.
On the other hand, it is my concrete belief that a multitude of practicable solutions should be taken into account. First, authorities and schools have to put Ethics and Laws on top to deter the youth from indulging in criminal activities. To make it more clearly, if the state promulgates a set of stringent regulations to youth crime, the youngsters will gain their awareness of the consequences of wrongdoing. As a result, young people have proper behaviors, stay away from illegal activities and become noble citizens. Second, vocational schools erected by governments subsidies for the youth who have financial predicaments are a contributing factor to halt the lawbreakers. To clarify, the courses equip youngsters with basic skills to become tailoring, mechanics, carpentry and have decent income after graduate. Hence, decent jobs deter them from having any malicious intent.
By and large, I would reaffirm that providing fathers and mothers with parenting knowledge can be promising to a certain extent, yet other measures implemented by the authority and schools are superior to address juvenile delinquency.
