The best players in each team

Which are correct (the assumption is that there are two teams in all):

1-The best players from each team will play against each other.
2-The best players from either team will play against each other.
3-The best players from both teams will play against each other.

In which case:
a-The best player from each team will play against the best player from the other team
and in which
b-The best players from each team will play against the best players from the other team
and which sentences are ambiguous?

Change this one by using 'player' instead of 'players' if you want to say that only one player will play against one other player.

This was very confusing and difficult for me. I think it really is a hard question!!

You're right! After looking at it a second time I can see that there's a problem. You need a plural if you use 'each other'. I don't think the concept can be communicated in so few words. I would fix it this way:

The best player from each [team / of the two teams] will be sel
